Over 1,750 members comprise 43 clubs who live to be the inspiration
From Montpelier, ID to Baker City, OR, our Rotarians strive to enhance local and global communities. We fight to end polio, support nonprofits, provide clean water, promote global literacy and so much more…and we do it all while having fun. Overall, Rotary has 35,000+ clubs and we all work together to improve our world.Find a Club
Globally we are 1.2 million Rotarians strong. We have incredible partners, like the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Coca-Cola. This is the best place to be if you want to help the world.
Rotarians are fantastic public speakers and leaders. Not because it came naturally, but because they had the opportunities to practice and put their ideas to action.
Rotary was borne of a man’s need for companionship. You have the potential to find your best friends, extended family, travel partners and business prospects at each meeting or service project.
YOUR IDEAS, REALIZED
“The power of one, if fearless and focused, is formidable, but the power of many working together is better.” Our clubs are constantly looking for new ideas to make a big impact.
Here are just a few causes our district focuses on.
We set aside money collected from our Rotarians for annual scholarships on both the district and club level. We work closely with at-risk youth and adults to teach community readiness so they aren’t left behind. Our support of the Rotary Youth Exchange includes hosting and sending students, and sponsoring their visit expenses. This program has an immeasurable impact on a student’s real-world education.
Almost every D5400 club funds and delivers dictionaries to elementary school children each year. This is one of the most enjoyable partnerships we have, as the kids are ecstatic to have a book of their very own that also includes vast amounts of information beyond just word definitions. We respect that children are our future and focus many of our service projects on their development and well-being, including the coveted Rotary Youth Leadership Academy.
We fund clean water initiatives for countries around the world, then set up opportunities for Rotarians to teach citizens how to build and utilize water filtration systems for a self-sustaining long-term solution that also introduces jobs into their communities.
You will always find our Rotary cogs in parks we’ve built throughout Idaho and Oregon, but we’ve also made an impact on cleaning up communities around the world so their residents have the right to live and grow in a sanitary environment that keeps them healthy.
Dedicated, kind, fun and motivated to be an inspiration to our world.
